Sherlock Third Blog Post-B period

Sherlock Holmes was on the prowl tonight.  After speaking with many suspects in the murder of Cielo, we have come to the conclusion that Pat Kelly must be responsible for her death.  It was obvious after speaking with the suspects that everyone had ill will towards Cielo, but PK was the only one capable of pulling of the murder.  When PK was asked to stop by for "one last prop" he was giving the tool used for the murder.  When Rebecca left to use the restroom, PK had the opportunity the kill Cielo.  Finding out why Pat Kelly would want Cielo dead was hard.  We had to piece together the stories from every suspect before we realized that Cielo was the least favorite of all the cast.  Liz Butler wanted Cielo dead because she was messing around with her ex boyfriend.  Liz was also the lead actress and she told Mr. Howard that she wouldn't do the play with Cielo still around so Mr. Howard sent the message to PK to get him to kill Cielo.

David Eagan: Incriminates: I was the first one at the gazebo 

Incriminates: I just sat there by the fire thinking about my day and my homework.

Explanation: Katie and Will were inside while Eagan was supposedly sitting by the fire and Behring was no where to be found. Eagan could have snuck away, killed Behring and been back before Mrs. Bullock arrived. 

Incriminates: Katie speaking: "while Eagan and Behring were outside making a fire. Will and I watched a movie. 

This incriminates Eagan because he was outside alone with Behring and they could of went to look for wood and Eagan could of killed him. 

Ryan Summers: 

Incriminates: He was lying and saying that he was the first one at the cabin when really we was not. 

Kimberley Henry:

Incriminates: She has a backpack with pins and a pin found by Behring's dead body

Katie Moffet: 

Exonerated: saw Will and Eagan at the gazebo, and she and will were in the cabin watching the movie while Behring was outside

And Mrs. Bullock arrived and saw her

Exonerated: She would be unable to locate Behring's body because she was so late.

Kimberly Henry is the murderer because there was a pin found next to his body. She lied clearly. Why would Kim be over by a stream when she had no business there? She had to have seen him or had killed him and then she lies about it. Kimberley Henry is the murderer.

Blog 1: Terror at The Theater Sherlock Holmes (B)

Blog 1: Terror at The Theater - Katie, Eric, Chris
The plot overview for this mystery is very good because it gives everyone the opportunity and motive to commit the murder. Most characters at one point described a problem they had with Cielo, and were also alone at one point. However, Cielo was found dead in the prop room, where Merrit was last seen. This gives Merrit the highest chance of being the killer, but we will need to do some interviews before we can be sure of the murder.

Blog 2: Terror at The Theater

After analyzing the murder mystery, “Terror At The Theater”. Sherlock Holmes believes that Liz Butler is the murderer because she was very angry at Cielo for supposedly “messing” around with Liz’s ex-boyfriend. Talking of Cielo, Liz says,  “She wasn’t being very nice, and told me I wasn’t loud enough on stage. She was being very rude and I went back to my room and god pretty upset.” Craig could not be the killer because he was handing out flyers for the play. Pat and Rebecca could not be the killer because they were at dinner when everyone was bickering about Cielo and they were busy visiting Mr. Howard in the green room. Max and Merrit seem upset by Cielo’s behavior, however, not to the extent that they would plot a murder. Liz was in the lobby of the theater before the play with Jeff Erazo, giving her plenty of time to plot revenge on Cielo for “messing” around with Liz’s ex-boyfriend. Sherlock Holmes believes that Liz Butler is the murderer because she has motive to kill her.

Miss Marple Mysteries 2nd blog post

After reading this mystery and getting the input of the people involved, we think that Scout is accidentally the murderer because Savage trips over Scout when he is getting up to go to the bathroom. We can verify this from Eric Smith's claim that he heard a grunt and a dog bark, and Jake Grant says he got scared because he heard animal noises. Because the rock only has blood on the top of it, that means that Savage had fallen on it and it hasn't been moved since it was in contact with his head. T.J did not want to be on the trip and disliked the noises of the woods; this exonerates him because he had no intention of going into the woods to commit a crime. Coach Quinn is exonerated because he puts his feelings aside for the trip and is also sleeping while the murder takes place. Will F is exonerated because he is on his sleeping medication and cannot wake up. Jake Grant is exonerated because he has no problem with Savage and even defends him; he was also sleeping. Eric Smith is exonerated because he is asleep and only wakes up to hear the thud and grunt of Savage and Scout bark, but he doesn't think much of it and goes to bed. Miss Marple Wins

After reading this mystery I believe the murderer is Jake Grant. His standing up for Ryan Savage was a cover to take any attention off of him after the crime was committed. Jake also has opportunities throughout the story to commit the crime. Jake lastly has reason to kill Ryan after he messes up the play in the football game. Will is also unable to commit this murder seeing as he took he sleeping pill and isn't awake for much of the story. Eric Smith is still a suspect seeing how it was his idea to hike up the mountain. Mr. Quinn also has plausable cause to commit the crime.

Victim: Tyler

* Tyler, Kim, Ryan are missing from the rest of the group. 

* Ryan shows up in the middle of the night because he woke Katie with his noise.

* Kim shows up in the middle of the night because she woke Mrs. Bullock up to tell her she arrived. 

* The next morning Tyler was found dead at the river embankment with small pin as our only clue.

+ Will left Buck at 8 only to meet Katie and David already there.

+ David asked both Katie and Will if they have seen Tyler, he hasn't been present for 20min and it was getting late. 

+ Kim has little pins on Backpack

+ wasn't present at the cabin until later in the night and was lost

+ Mrs. Bullock arrived late. 

+ Mrs. Bullock arrived after Tyler went missing as well.

+ Arrived to see David, Katie and Will

- There is no motive for any character to want Tyler dead.

- Kim has pins like the one found near the body on her back pack

- We have no interviews on David, Ryan or Katie yet so we can not draw a concise conclusion.

Murphy: went with Rhi to Bellas-Dixon. Rhi said she needed to go work on a project with Jack Fox and disappeared for a long time. Rhi was receiving texts from Chris Gaynor while with her. When she noticed Rhi had been gone a long time, she went to take the elevator and Rhi was laying dead in it. The elevator had come from the basement.

Katie: went to BD to get away from Cam Kaiser because she didn't like him.

I believe that Chris Gaynor is a serious suspect because he was sending Rhi messages before she disappeared and was seen dead. Even with the lack of information there has to be some explanation as to why he was sending her messages and what they may have said.

Blog 3
 Cam Kaiser is the murderer. After interviewing him I found out that he had been tripped down the steps by Murphy and broke his right arm. The stab wound on Rhi was on her left side. Cam could have only used his left hand there fore he is the killer. Max is suspicious of Murphy because Rhi didn't want Max and rhi to be together. But we know Murphy didn't do it, because she is the one who found the body, and Rhi left her to go hangout with Chris. The other characters being predominately righty would not use their left hand.

Today I tracked down the last remaining leads in the ongoing murder investigation. Mr. Splawn was the easiest to find because he was on duty in Buck, my dorm, when asked about why he was in the Math Science building he said that he was there doing work and that he could not have possibly murdered Rhi because he did not have the time to. Coincidentally I found Chris Gaynor and Kyla Rab in the Math Science building, the scene of the crime. When I questioned Chris he seemed pretty relaxed and that he wasn’t hiding anything, however I was a little suspicious of him because he had come into contact with many of the other suspects the night of the murder. When I questioned him about why he was at the Math Science building he said that Rhi had texted him to come over and work with her. However, when I asked him what he had studied with her that night he became quiet nervous and then finally admitted that they hadn’t been studying and that they had hooked up in the elevator. I thought this was very interesting because Rhi was found dead in the elevator. I also asked him if he had come into contact with anyone else and he said that he had briefly spoken to Cam as they were leaving the building right before Murphy came up and told them Rhi was dead. When I questioned Kyla to as why she was in the Math Science building she said that Murphy had texted her to come over to do work and that she had not come into contact with Rhi and her story was backed by Murphy so I ruled her out as a suspect.

Nancy Drew (B)

We believe that it is possible Tyler/Michael got the answer sheet from either Thomas or Juan. They were seen whispering or perhaps trying to cover up. Another big suspect is Ms. Loose Brown because when Tyler was heading to Berkshire Hall at 10:45, the lights were still on in her office, her coat was there as well as her coffee cup, but she was not present. Earlier that week, Michael Tyler and Thomas were assigned a chemistry experiment. They were mixing white powder into animal food and all the animals that were tested with this food died because of it. This makes it seem that like she could have put this white substance in the Tyler’s cup of coffee, resulting in him choking. She was the only one with access to this white powder.

Blog Assignment #3

Facts of Murder: 

Background: Wednesday night - Mr. Quin  on duty.

-Fighting/ roughhousing circa 11:00 pm lights out

-Smith, Ron, Will, Nate, Chris, Daniel= Suspects

- Mr. Quin brakes up fight- talks to Eric

- Everybody goes to will & Eric's room after lights out to play X Box

- They make noise and Mr. Sullivan, Mr. Splawn, and Mr. Quin enter 

-everybody hides and dorm parents leave

- Students leave except for Chris and Daniel who finish their game around 12:30 and leave

- Eric strangled at night between 12:30pm and 7:00am

-Head covered in pillows

-bruises around neck suggest something had been wrapped around his neck

Group Decision: 

Will Knight is the murderer because he was the only suspect who was alone with Eric at any point during the night while Eric was alive giving him multiple opportunities for murder. Daniel and Chris had left the room at 12:30 and Will was left alone with his roommate. Will had been seriously irritated by Eric and his sensitivity. The murder was assisted by a tool. There was a pillow over Eric's head in the morning. Because Eric Was sleeping, He also had a pillow below his head. The other pillow was Will Knights from the same room. Group Sam Spade deduces that Will Knight is the murderer.
